The executive board of the ISTE Independent School Special Interest Group (SIG-IS) want to wish each and every one of you a happy and prosperous New Year.
We are proud to represent your needs and interests by providing webinars and twitter chats, highlighting sessions of interest at the ISTE Conference in June, and providing meet-ups at the NAIS and ISTE annual conferences. 2012 was a very successful year, highlighted by a number of opportunities for learning and connecting.
We are also excited about the opportunities planned for 2013. We will be sharing a number of updates and changes to the we way we interact with you based upon the feedback from our face to face meetings at conferences and feedback from the membership survey this fall. We are also planning a number of webinars and twitter chats to keep the conversations going as well.
To kick off 2013, we are hosting our first Winter Book Group Read to compliment the successful Summer Book Group Reads we have led each of the two previous summers. This winter, we have chosen Howard Rheingold’s Net Smart: How to Thrive Online. (Hard Cover and Kindle versions) Beginning next week, we will announce the schedule of activities which will take place between now and the NAIS annual conference in early March.
If you would like to participate in this book talk, we ask that you complete this simple form so we can more directly inform you of upcoming activities and announcements.
We look forward to discussing this book and its implication to the digital citizenship efforts we are all invested in with our students.
